New Mini Grants for Doctoral Students: Apply Now for Up to €4,000 for Empirical Research Projects

The Doctoral Academy “Business and Leadership Ethics” is expanding its funding opportunities: Starting immediately, doctoral students can apply for mini grants.

Over the next three years, we will award a total of nine Mini Grants, each worth up to 4,000 euros. Together with the KSG Foundation and the Friede Springer Chair of Business Ethics and Management Accounting at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, we are supporting doctoral students in carrying out research projects with practical relevance.

Funding is available in particular for empirical research designs and experiments, but also for qualitative research projects. The funds can be used, for example, to recruit and compensate study participants, conduct pre-tests, provide incentives for experiments, purchase software and research materials, or hire student assistants.

Doctoral candidates in the fields of business ethics, corporate ethics, and leadership ethics are eligible to apply. A clear and demonstrable practical relevance of the research project is required. The funded researchers will then present their findings to the community during a Doctoral Academy event, such as a summer school, winter school, or writing retreat.

We look forward to receiving your applications and are excited to see which great research projects make the shortlist.

The next application deadlines are:

  • December 31, 2026
  • June 30, 2027
