Shortly after the Easter holidays, we once again had the pleasure of welcoming 19 international doctoral researchers from around the world to our Writing Retreat as part of the Doctoral Academy “Business and Leadership Ethics”.
From April 7 to 11, participants, traveling not only from Germany but also from countries such as the United Kingdom, Austria, and Romania, dedicated this time intensively to their dissertation projects. They were working in a calm and supportive environment that provides space for focused writing, collegial exchange, and new perspectives through accompanying workshops.
A particular highlight was the lively discussion with Thorsten Pinkepank (Head of Corporate Sustainability Relations) and Judith Trüper (Senior Manager Corporate Sustainability Relations) from BASF on the topic “Risk vs. Hazard,” offering valuable practical insights. The session was complemented by contributions from Dr. Martin von Broock and Dr. Gonzalo Conti from the Wittenberg Center for Global Ethics (WCGE).
In addition, participants took part in different sessions, e.g. a “Peer Feedback Session” and a “Practicing Research Pitch,” where they were able to further develop and present their research projects to one another.
It is always great to see so many early-career researchers in the fields of business, corporate, and leadership ethics coming together in Wittenberg.
As always, our heartfelt thanks go to the Karl Schlecht Foundation for their continuous support of researchers in these areas.
