last news overview next news

There is a growing public opinion that the market economy is lacking in ethics. Actual opinion surveys predict that only 25% of the Germans hold a positive image toward the market economy. News of mass layoffs despite rising profits goes contrary to citizens’ sense of social justice. Manipulations of balance sheet, corruption, environmental impairment and so on are evidences of frenetic profit seeking and loss of value.
The question is: are market economy and moral opposing forces?

The Wittenberg Center for Global Ethics and the Campus Wittenberg invite you on Monday, October 23rd at 7 PM to an evening discussion round at the Auditorium Maximum of the Leucorea Foundation in Wittenberg. Interested citizens are invited to attend this event dealing with this essential, very current and thrilling theme.

The event is supported by the Sparkasse Wittenberg.
