5. Forum on Economic Co-Operation: Water Technologies Cooperation, 15. - 19. July 2007
In July 2007, the Peres Center, in cooperation with the Amman Center for Peace and Development, held the fifth annual "Jordanian-Israeli Forum on Economic Cooperation" in Wittenberg, Germany, under the academic auspices of the Wittenberg Center for Global Ethics and with the support of Daimler AG.
 
Some 30 leading Israeli and Jordanian water experts came together to share technology and know-how and examine opportunities for joint Israeli-Jordanian projects in the fields of Advanced Wastewater Treatment, Irrigation, Aquaculture, Water Management, and Culture of Water
 
Throughout the seminar, various presentations were held which focused on present water initiatives, as well as future plans and goals, for both countries. The participants shared their experience and information, engaging in much needed cross-cultural dialogue surrounding this significant issue. Additionally, the Jordanians and Israelis partook in many discussions during their time in Germany, jointly analyzing common concerns and problems, and brainstorming solutions to such water issues.

In conclusion of the conference, the Israeli and Jordanian participants signed a joint declaration emphasizing the need to enhance cooperation between the two countries on water-related issues: "We appreciate the significance of cooperation in the water sector to overcome the problems of water deficit in the region as well as being a major component to enhance the national welfare of both countries".
